Portmarnock Golf Club Head Professional ( Former European Tour Member)
Francis has been the Head Professional at Portmarnock Golf Club since November 2016.
Francis is a very accomplished golfer having competed on both the European Tour & Challenge Tour from 1996 – 2001.

Lowest Round - 64, Turespana Masters, El Saler, Spain
After finishing with tour life, Francis became the Head Professional at Ballyliffin Golf Club where he spent two and a half years before moving to Carton House, where he later became Director of Golf. During Francis’s time at Carton he oversaw 3 Irish Opens, 1 Seniors Open and the European Amateur Team Championships.
Since moving to Portmarnock Francis’s main focus is on coaching club teams, developing junior golf, teaching, playing casual golf with the members and managing the busy Professionals Shop at Portmarnock.
Francis and his team pride them self’s on excellent customer service and really enjoy welcoming and interacting with members and visitors.
Senior Assistant Professional
Colin joined Portmarnock Golf Club in 2016 from the GUI National Golf Academy where he completed his training. As well as coordinating the daily running of the proshop and staff under the guidance of head professional Francis Howley, Colin has taken a lead role in coaching at the club and developed an outstanding reputation for his methods and advice. Certified club fitter using TPI and TrackMan Colin’s holistic approach to golf coaching ensures he gets the most from himself and his players.
Conor joined the team in Portmarnock Golf Club in April 2018. He studied in the Darren Clarke Golf School for 2 years and played his amateur golf in Carton House. Conor was part of the successful Fred Daly Team that won both the Leinster and All Ireland titles before going on to win the Home Nations Cup which was played in Spain. Conor graduated from the PGA in the summer of 2019 and has developed a great passion for adult and junior coaching and is a valuable member of the team.
Killian is a native of Co.Cavan and joined the team in Portmarnock Golf Club in April 2019. He turned Pro in 2016 and was the Assistant at Co.Meath golf club where he set up and organised a very successful junior coaching programme. With previous studies in Software & Computer programming he hopes to further develop his custom fitting and coaching skills at Portmarnock now that he completed his PGA Degree in July 2019.
